Support & Services Program for Multicultural Family Systems
Free Monthly Virtual Support Group

What is PASOS?
PASOS is a culturally responsive, trauma-informed parent support space designed to strengthen parenting capacity within multicultural family systems. This monthly virtual group provides caregivers of neurodivergent children with opportunities to build awareness, share experiences, and develop practical strategies related to emotional regulation, communication, and navigating systems of care. Services are offered in a supportive, bilingual (Spanish/English) environment to promote connection, learning, and community.
This group is open to all Spanish-speaking parents seeking guidance, connection, and culturally responsive support.
The Heart Behind PASOS
PASOS was created from both professional experience and deeply personal inspiration. My motivation for developing this program, and offering free virtual support groups, comes from my journey as a mother to my son, Elijah.
From a young age, Elijah was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and a FOXP1 gene defect. As I began navigating these diagnoses, I made a conscious decision not to rely solely on traditional behavior redirection approaches. Instead, I pursued specialized training in Positive Behavior Supports through the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Through this training, combined with my clinical background and lived experience, his father and I developed a more holistic, strength-based approach to supporting our son.

Over the years, I have been able to support Elijah through different stages of development while honoring who he is as an individual. My focus has always been on helping him build the skills needed to better navigate his community and the social environments he engages in without compromising his identity. More importantly, to live a happy and fulfilled life.
PASOS was developed with him in mind, and with a deep understanding of what it means to parent a child with neurodivergence and intellectual disabilities. It reflects not only my professional training, but also the challenges, growth, and perspective shifts I experienced as a parent learning to navigate a new path, one that supports not only the present, but his future as well.
Paso a paso (step by step), families can build understanding, connection, and lasting change.
